Thanksgiving Break

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

Wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve updated my blog.

I’ll start with this week. Monday was a good day. I don’t even remember it too well to be honest with you. Tuesday seemed to be good also. We had a pizza party in one class at school because we won a food drive. This was my morning class, so I didn’t bother to eat breakfast that day. Instead, I devoured six or seven pieces of pizza. That was nice. I didn’t eat lunch at school that day.

Wednesday I stayed home and relaxed. I slept until 12:47. It was nice. I needed the sleep. I installed Windows XP on my new laptop. I couldn’t take Vista any more. It works like a charm now. And thanks to a program from one of my teachers, I made an XP install CD with Service Pack 2 already slipstreamed into it, which helped a lot during the process.

Thursday, yesterday, was probably the best of the break so far. I stuffed myself with a little bit of turkey, stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes with gravy, apple and pumpkin pie, and more. It was a delicious feast, and a good day. I also set about downloading a few programs J

Today seemed to be somewhat a waste of a day. I didn’t like it much. I slept until almost 1:00. The whole day I cleaned up my room, which wasn’t hard to do because it was already clean. But it’s extra clean now. And that’s what’s nice. Brandon is at a friend’s house, and so it’s just me, Mom, and Alex here now. The Christmas decorations started going up today.

So far, this has been a descent break. Leave me some comments!

Turkey Day

Friday, November 16th, 2007

My wonderful, clean, deep-frozen desktop (on my “old” laptop)

I am blogging today from school. I am in one of the computer labs fixing a computer. It’s the last period of the day, I am in here all by myself, and it’s nice and quiet. It’s nice being smart.

Today has been a fast, yet slow day. All this week, our English class has been going to the library to work on our projects. Because our project is going to be a video, and because we aren’t filming the video here at school, we’ve had some free time in there. And I mean some because we have been busy planning what we’re going to do. Tomorrow we set out to film at my church.

Turkey Day (aka Thanksgiving) is next week. Already. How did that happen? This school year has been very fast so far. However, Thanksgiving break is next week. We’re off Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I look forward to sleeping in. I don’t think we’re going to have a huge dinner this year, which is fine with me, because it’s always a pain to clean up. It’s 1:55 now. We are dismissed at 2:40. In another hour I’ll be home, in my room, probably reading this post. Next time I post, I’ll probably tell about the video and how the production went. That is, if I have time. It’s due Monday. But that shouldn’t be much of a problem for me.

Updated 3:54 – I put a picture on this post

“The Crucible” Project

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

Movie poster for my video of The Crucible for school

We read The Crucible this month in English class at school. Very interesting story. It shows pretty much that the whole Salem witch trials were dramatized and nobody was really a witch.

Our teacher gave us all group assignments based on The Crucible. After getting the list of what we could do, I volunteered my group to do a live or recorded interpretation of a scene from the play (mainly because I live for video production, and partly because nobody else was speaking…), so we are going to film Act III of The Crucible hopefully this Saturday.

I am looking forward to filming this. I already have the opening titles taken care of. I helped a student last year on this same project (her video can be viewed here) and it turned out really well. I hope ours is as good.

Leave me some comments!

Three Day Weekend

Monday, November 12th, 2007

Click here to visit my new online community “Friends of Josh”!

Well, this is my first post on my “new” blog. We had a three day weekend because of Veteran’s day.

There wasn’t much that happened this weekend. I stayed home all day Saturday and got some much needed sleep. After waking up, I hung around the house and relaxed. Sunday I had the privilege of sleeping in again. In the afternoon, we went to Wal-Mart. Brandon wanted to pick up some Christmas decorations. We stopped at Subway while we were there…. Wal-Mart – they’ve got everything in their stores.

Today nothing special happened. I have stayed home again today. I was originally going to help a friend make a video for a school project, but that didn’t happen, so I set up this new blog. I am typing this in Microsoft Word 2007. It has a nice feature where you can write to your blog. This will make it easier and more fun to update my blog now.

Well, there’s not much else to say. We have a four-day week of school this week, so that should be nice. I am going to make a video about The Crucible this week for an English project. And then next week only go to school on Monday and Tuesday, because Thanksgiving is next Thursday….. Already…. Where does the time go? It was just yesterday that we were visiting North Carolina…..

Well, I think I’m going to stop here. Comment on the posts – you don’t have to be a registered member of WordPress to comment!
